The center for Positive Aging in Lower Merion (PALM) supports adults 55 or older by providing a caring environment with opportunities to engage actively, creatively, and independently. The center encourages new learning and growth by offering classes in subjects such as computer sciences, health, and exercise, Spanish, art, and writing. PALM recognizes and celebrates the wisdom that is accumulated through years of living by treating each member with dignity and respect. PALM also offers legal services and can be used as a resource for information. The center fosters inter-generational connections between its members and the wider Lower Merion community. Becoming a volunteer will help contribute to developing these inter-generational relationships that are paramount to the center’s key mission of positive aging, improving quality of life, and healthy living for adults 55 and older.
Volunteers commit to helping with a range of tasks that all contribute to keeping programs and classes running smoothly. PALM currently has more direct teaching experience volunteer opportunities for computer science classes.
